STATEMENT BY UNITED NATIONS SPECIAL COORDINATOR NICKOLAY MLADENOV ON THE SITUATION IN GAZA
“I am deeply concerned by yet another dangerous escalation in Gaza and the tragic loss of life. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of all those who were killed, and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
The United Nations is working with Egypt and all sides to calm the situation. I call on all parties to immediately de-escalate and return to the understandings of the past few months. Those who seek to destroy them will bear responsibility for a conflict that will have grave consequences for all.
Continuing down the current path of escalation will quickly undo what has been achieved and destroy the chances for long term solutions to the crisis. This endless cycle of violence must end, and efforts must accelerate to realize a political solution to the crisis in Gaza.
The current violence jeopardizes the significant progress made in recent weeks to relieve the suffering of people in Gaza, lift the closures, and support intra-Palestinian reconciliation.”
DECLARACIÓN DEL COORDINADOR ESPECIAL DE LAS NACIONES UNIDAS NICKOLAY MLADENOV SOBRE LA SITUACIÓN EN GAZA
“Estoy profundamente preocupado por otra peligrosa escalada en Gaza y la trágica pérdida de vidas. Mis pensamientos y oraciones están con la familia y los amigos de todos los que murieron, y deseo una pronta recuperación de los heridos”.
Las Naciones Unidas están trabajando con Egipto y todas las partes para calmar la situación. Pido a todas las partes que disminuyan de inmediato y vuelvan a los entendimientos de los últimos meses. Quienes intenten destruirlos serán responsables de un conflicto que tendrá graves consecuencias para todos.
Continuar por el camino actual de la escalada deshará rápidamente lo que se ha logrado y destruirá las posibilidades de soluciones a largo plazo para la crisis. Este ciclo interminable de violencia debe terminar, y los esfuerzos deben acelerarse para lograr una solución política a la crisis en Gaza.

(20) La sabiduría grita fuerte en la calle. profiere su voz en las plazas.
(21) Llama en la encrucijada de las calles concurridas, a la entrada de los portones, en toda la ciudad, donde profiere sus palabras:
(22) ¿Hasta cuando, oh simples, amaréis la simpleza? ¿Y hasta cuando los burladores seguirán complaciéndose en sus burlas, y los insensatos aborreciendo el conocimiento?
(23) Volveos ante mi represión. He aquí que derramaré mi espíritu sobre vosotros. Os haré conocer mis palabras.

(30) No quisieron escuchar mi consejo. Despreciaron mi represión.
(31) Por tanto comerán el fruto de su propio camino y se llenarán de sus propios consejos.
(32) Porque los matará la apostasía de los simples, y los destruirá la confianza de los insensatos.
(33)Pero el que me escucha vivirá protegido y se sentirá seguro sin el temor del mal.
