Bereishit – Genesis – Chapter 36(1)

1 And these are the generations of Esau, that is, Edom.

אוְאֵ֛לֶּה תֹּֽלְד֥וֹת עֵשָׂ֖ו ה֥וּא אֱדֽוֹם:

GÉNESIS 36

(1) Y ésta es la genealogía de Esaú, o sea Edom.

Esaú se muestra de dos formas a su hermano Jacob:

• “Eres mi hermano”
• Con espada 

Bereishit – Genesis – Chapter 33

4 And Esau ran toward him and embraced him, and he fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.

דוַיָּ֨רָץ עֵשָׂ֤ו לִקְרָאתוֹ֙ וַיְחַבְּקֵ֔הוּ וַיִּפֹּ֥ל עַל־צַוָּארָ֖יו (כתיב צוארו ) וַֹיִֹשָֹׁקֵֹ֑הֹוֹּ וַיִּבְכּֽוּ:

GENÉSIS 33

(4) Esaú corrió a su encuentro, lo abrazó, se echó sobre su cuello y lo beso mientras ambos lloraban.

9 But Esau said, “I have plenty, my brother; let what you have remain yours.”

טוַיֹּ֥אמֶר עֵשָׂ֖ו יֶשׁ־לִ֣י רָ֑ב אָחִ֕י יְהִ֥י לְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁר־לָֽךְ:

GENÉSIS 33

(9) Y dijo Esaú: “Yo ya tengo mucho, hermano mío. Guarda para ti lo que es tuyo”.

Amos – Chapter 1

1 So said the Lord: For three sins of Edom, yea for four, I will not return them: For pursuing their brother with a sword, and they destroyed their mercy and grasped forever their anger and kept their fury forever.		יאכֹּה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י אֱד֔וֹם וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־רָדְפ֨וֹ בַחֶ֚רֶב אָחִיו֙ וְשִׁחֵ֣ת רַֽחֲמָ֔יו וַיִּטְרֹ֚ף לָעַד֙ אַפּ֔וֹ וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ שְׁמָ֥רָה נֶֽצַח:
12 And I will send fire into Teman, and it shall consume the palaces of Bozrah.		יבוְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּתֵימָ֑ן וְאָֽכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת בָּצְרָֽה:

AMOS 1(11  -12)

(11) Así dice el Eterno: Por tres generaciones de Edom o por cuatro, no apartaré de ella su castigo porque persiguió a su hermano con la espada, dejando de lado toda piedad y en su ira destrozaba contínuamente, guardando su ira para siempre.

(12) por lo que enviaré un fuego sobre Teimán que devorará los palacios de Botzrá.

Yoel – Joel – Chapter 4 (19 – 21)

19 And Egypt shall become desolate, and Edom shall be a desert waste, because of the violence done to the children of Judah, because they shed innocent blood in their land.		יטמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לִשְׁמָמָ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֔ה וֶֽאֱד֕וֹם לְמִדְבַּ֥ר שְׁמָמָ֖ה תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה מֵֽחֲמַס֙ בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־שָֽׁפְכ֥וּ דָֽם־נָקִ֖יא בְּאַרְצָֽם:
20 But Judah shall remain forever, and Jerusalem throughout all generations.		כוִֽיהוּדָ֖ה לְעוֹלָ֣ם תֵּשֵׁ֑ב וִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם לְד֥וֹר וָדֽוֹר:
21 Now should I cleanse, their blood I will not cleanse, when the Lord dwells in Zion.		כאוְנִקֵּ֖יתִי דָּמָ֣ם לֹֽא־נִקֵּ֑יתִי וַֽיהֹוָ֖ה שֹׁכֵ֥ן בְּצִיּֽוֹן:

JOEL  4 (19 – 21)

(19) Egipto será una desolación y Edom será un erial desolado por al violencia contra los hijos de Judá y porque derramaron sangre inocente en su tierra.

(20) Pero Judá y Jerusalem serán habitadas para siempre, de generación en generación

(21) Y tendré por inocente la sangre de ellos, que Yo había considerado inocente y el Eterno habitará en Sión.

Amos – Chapter 9 (11 – 12)

11 On that day, I will raise up the fallen Tabernacle of David, and I will close up their breaches, and I will raise up its ruins, and build it up as in the days of yore.		יאבַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא אָקִ֛ים אֶת־סֻכַּ֥ת דָּוִ֖יד הַנֹּפֶ֑לֶת וְגָֽדַרְתִּ֣י אֶת־פִּרְצֵיהֶ֗ן וַֽהֲרִֽסֹתָיו֙ אָקִ֔ים וּבְנִיתִ֖יהָ כִּימֵ֥י עוֹלָֽם:
12 In order that they inherit the remnant of Edom and all the nations because My Name is called upon them, says the Lord Who does this.		יבלְמַ֨עַן יִֽירְשׁ֜וּ אֶת־שְׁאֵרִ֚ית אֱדוֹם֙ וְכָל־הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָ֥א שְׁמִ֖י עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֖ה עֹ֥שֶׂה זֹּֽאת:

AMÓS 9 (11 – 12)

(11) En aquel día, levantaré el tabernáculo de David caído, cerraré sus brechas, levantaré sus ruinas y los volveré a construir como en los días antiguos,

(12) para que puedan poseer el resto de Edom y a todas las naciones que invocan Mi Nombre, dice el Eterno al orígen de eso.

Amos – Chapter 9 (14 – 15)

14 And I will return the captivity of My people Israel, and they shall rebuild desolate cities and inhabit [them], and they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their produce.		ידוְשַׁבְתִּי֘ אֶת־שְׁב֣וּת עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וּבָנ֞וּ עָרִ֚ים נְשַׁמּוֹת֙ וְיָשָׁ֔בוּ וְנָֽטְע֣וּ כְרָמִ֔ים וְשָׁת֖וּ אֶת־יֵינָ֑ם וְעָשׂ֣וּ גַנּ֔וֹת וְאָֽכְל֖וּ אֶת־פְּרִיהֶֽם:
15 And I will plant them on their land, and they shall no longer be uprooted from upon their land, that I have given them, said the Lord your God.		טווּנְטַעְתִּ֖ים עַל־אַדְמָתָ֑ם וְלֹ֨א יִנָּֽתְשׁ֜וּ ע֗וֹד מֵעַ֚ל אַדְמָתָם֙ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֣תִּי לָהֶ֔ם אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ:

AMÓS 9 (14 – 15)

(14) Haré tomar el cautiverio de mi pueblo Israel, reconstruirán las ciudades asoladas y las habitarán. Plantarán viñedos y beberán su vino. Cultivarán también huertos y comerán sus frutos.

(15) Yo plantaré en su propio suelo y no serán más arrancadas de la tierra que le dí, dice el Eterno su Dios.

Eichah – Lamentations – Chapter 4

21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, who dwells in the land of Uz; upon you also shall the cup pass, you shall become drunk and vomit.		כאשִׂ֤ישִׂי וְשִׂמְחִי֙ בַּת־אֱד֔וֹם יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת (כתיב יושבתי) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ ע֑וּץ גַּם־עָלַ֨יִךְ֙ תַּֽעֲבָר־כּ֔וֹס תִּשְׁכְּרִ֖י וְתִתְעָרִֽי:
22 [The punishment of] your iniquity is complete, O daughter of Zion; He will no longer send you into exile; [but] your iniquity, O daughter of Edom, He shall punish-He will reveal your sins.		כבתַּם־עֲו‍ֹנֵךְ֙ בַּת־צִיּ֔וֹן לֹ֥א יוֹסִ֖יף לְהַגְלוֹתֵ֑ךְ פָּקַ֤ד עֲו‍ֹנֵךְ֙ בַּת־אֱד֔וֹם גִּלָּ֖ה עַל־חַטֹּאתָֽיִךְ:

LAS LAMENTACIONES 4(21)

(21) Shin. Alégrate y regocíjate, oh hija de Edom, que vives en la tierra de Uz. La copa pasará también a ti. Te embriagarás y te desnudarás.

(22) Tav. El castigo de tu iniquidad está cumplido, oh hija de Sión. Él no te llevará más al cautiverio. Él castigará tu iniquidad, oh hija de Edom. Descubrirá tus pecados.

Yechezkel – Ezekiel – Chapter 25

12 So said the Lord God: Because of what Edom did when I took revenge on the house of Judah-and they were guilty and took revenge on them,		יבכֹּ֚ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה יַ֣עַן עֲשׂ֥וֹת אֱד֛וֹם בִּנְקֹ֥ם נָקָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיֶּאְשְׁמ֥וּ אָשׁ֖וֹם וְנִקְּמ֥וּ בָהֶֽם:
13 Therefore, so said the Lord God: I shall stretch forth My hand upon Edom, and I shall cut off from her both man and beast, and I shall lay it waste from the south, and Dedan will fall by the sword.		יגלָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה וְנָטִ֚תִי יָדִי֙ עַל־אֱד֔וֹם וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י מִמֶּ֖נָּה אָדָ֣ם וּבְהֵמָ֑ה וּנְתַתִּ֚יהָ חָרְבָה֙ מִתֵּימָ֔ן וּדְדָ֖נֶה בַּחֶ֥רֶב יִפֹּֽלוּ:
14 And I shall lay My revenge upon Edom by the hand of My people Israel, and they will do to Edom according to My wrath and according to My fury, and they will know my vengeance, says the Lord God.		ידוְנָֽתַתִּ֨י אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֜י בֶּֽאֱד֗וֹם בְּיַד֙ עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְעָשׂ֣וּ בֶֽאֱד֔וֹם כְּאַפִּ֖י וְכַֽחֲמָתִ֑י וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֔י נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה:

EZEQUIEL 25 (12-14)

(12) Así dice Dios el Eterno: A causa de lo que hizo Edom vengándose cruelmente de los hijos de Judá y ofendiéndoles grandemente,

(13) así dice Dios el Eterno: Yo extenderé Mi mano sobre Edom y cortaré al hombre y a la bestia de ella. La haré desolada desde Teimán hasta Dedán donde caerán a espada.

(14) Y Yo Me tomaré venganza sobre Edom por mano de mi pueblo Israel y ellos harán en Edom conforme a Mi ira y conforme a Mi indignación; conocerán Mi venganza, dice Dios el Eterno.

Yechezkel – Ezekiel – Chapter 35

1 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:		אוַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר:
2 “Son of man, direct your face toward Mount Seir and prophesy over it.		בבֶּן־אָדָ֕ם שִׂ֥ים פָּנֶ֖יךָ עַל־הַ֣ר שֵׂעִ֑יר וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽיו:
3 And you shall say to it: So said the Lord God: Behold I am against you, O Mount Seir, and I shall stretch forth My hand upon you and make you desolate and waste.		גוְאָמַ֣רְתָּ לּ֗וֹ כֹּ֚ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה הִֽנְנִ֥י אֵלֶ֖יךָ הַר־שֵׂעִ֑יר וְנָטִ֚יתִי יָדִי֙ עָלֶ֔יךָ וּנְתַתִּ֖יךָ שְׁמָמָ֥ה וּמְשַׁמָּֽה:
4 I shall lay your cities waste, and you will be desolate, and you will know that I am the Lord.		דעָרֶ֙יךָ֙ חָרְבָּ֣ה אָשִׂ֔ים וְאַתָּ֖ה שְׁמָמָ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֑ה וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה:
5 Because you had everlasting hatred, and you hurled the children of Israel by the sword, on the day of their misfortune at the time of the end of their iniquity.		היַ֗עַן הֱי֚וֹת לְךָ֙ אֵיבַ֣ת עוֹלָ֔ם וַתַּגֵּ֥ר אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַל־יְדֵ֣י־חָ֑רֶב בְּעֵ֣ת אֵידָ֔ם בְּעֵ֖ת עֲו‍ֹ֥ן קֵֽץ:
6 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, for I shall make you into blood, and blood will pursue you; for surely you hated blood, and blood will pursue you.		ולָכֵ֣ן חַי־אָ֗נִי נְאֻם֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה כִּֽי־לְדָ֥ם אֶֽעֶשְׂךָ֖ וְדָ֣ם יִרְדֳּפֶ֑ךָ אִם־לֹ֥א דָ֛ם שָׂנֵ֖אתָ וְדָ֥ם יִרְדֳּפֶֽךָ:
7 And I shall make Mount Seir into desolation and waste, and I shall cut off from you anyone passing through or returning.		זוְנָֽתַתִּי֙ אֶת־הַ֣ר שֵׂעִ֔יר לְשִֽׁמֲמָ֖ה וּשְׁמָמָ֑ה וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י מִמֶּ֖נּוּ עֹבֵ֥ר וָשָֽׁב:
8 And I shall fill his mountains with his slain, your hills and your dales and all your streams-those slain by the sword will fall in them.		חוּמִלֵּאתִ֥י אֶת־הָרָ֖יו חֲלָלָ֑יו גִּבְעוֹתֶ֚יךָ וְגֵֽיאוֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ וְכָל־אֲפִיקֶ֔יךָ חַלְלֵי־חֶ֖רֶב יִפְּל֥וּ בָהֶֽם:
9 I shall make you everlasting desolations, and your cities will not return, and you will know that I am the Lord.		טשִֽׁמֲמ֚וֹת עוֹלָם֙ אֶתֶּנְךָ֔ וְעָרֶ֖יךָ לֹ֣א תָשׁ֑וֹבְנָה(כתיב תָישֹׁ֑בְנָה) וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה:
10 Because you said, “The two nations and the two lands will be mine, and we shall inherit it,” and the Lord was there,		ייַ֣עַן אֲ֠מָרְךָ אֶת־שְׁנֵ֨י הַגּוֹיִ֜ם וְאֶת־שְׁתֵּ֧י הָֽאֲרָצ֛וֹת לִ֥י תִֽהְיֶ֖ינָה וִֽירַשְׁנ֑וּהָ וַֽיהֹוָ֖ה שָׁ֥ם הָיָֽה:
11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I shall commit [acts] like your wrath and like your [acts of] anger that you did out of your hatred for them, and I shall be known among them when I judge you.		יאלָכֵ֣ן חַי־אָ֗נִי נְאֻם֘ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִה֒ וְעָשִׂ֗יתִי כְּאַפְּךָ֙ וּכְקִנְאָ֣תְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתָה מִשִּׂנְאָתֶ֖יךָ בָּ֑ם וְנוֹדַ֥עְתִּי בָ֖ם כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶשְׁפְּטֶֽךָ:
12 And you will know that I am the Lord. I heard all your blasphemies that you said concerning the mountains of Israel, saying, “They have become desolate; they were given to us to devour.”		יבוְֽיָֽדַעְתָּ֘ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָה֒ שָׁמַ֣עְתִּי | אֶת־כָּל־נָאָ֣צוֹתֶ֗יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָמַ֛רְתָּ עַל־הָרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֣ר | שָׁמֵ֑מוּ (כתיב שָׁמֵ֑מֻה) לָ֥נוּ נִתְּנ֖וּ לְאָכְלָֽה:
13 You have magnified yourselves against Me with your mouth, and you have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard.		יגוַתַּגְדִּ֚ילוּ עָלַי֙ בְּפִיכֶ֔ם וְהַעְתַּרְתֶּ֥ם עָלַ֥י דִּבְרֵיכֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י שָׁמָֽעְתִּי:
14 So said the Lord God: When the whole earth rejoices, I shall make you desolate.		ידכֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה כִּשְׂמֹ֙חַ֙ כָּל־הָאָ֔רֶץ שְׁמָמָ֖ה אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ:
15 As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it became desolate, so will I do to you; Mount Seir and all Edom will be desolate, even all of it, and they will know that I am the Lord.		טוכְּשִׂמְחָ֨תְךָ֜ לְנַֽחֲלַ֧ת בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל עַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁמֵ֖מָה כֵּ֣ן אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּ֑ךְ שְׁמָמָ֨ה תִֽהְיֶ֚ה הַר־שֵׂעִיר֙ וְכָל־אֱד֣וֹם כֻּלָּ֔הּ וְיָֽדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה:

EZEQUIEL 35

(1) Y me vino la palabra del Eterno, diciendo:

(2) “Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro contra el monte Seir (Seír) y profetiza contra él,

(3) y dile: Así dice Dios el Eterno: He aquí que soy contra ti, oh monte Seír y extenderé Mi mano contra ti. Te dejaré muy desolado.

(4) Asolaré tus ciudades y quedarás desolado; sabrá que Yo soy el Eterno.

(5) Por cuanto albergaste un odio de antiguo y entregaste a los hijos de Israel a la espada en el tiempo de su calamidad, en el tiempo de la iniquidad final,

(6) por Mi vida, dice Dios el Eterno, te prepararé para la sangre y la sangre te perseguirá.

(7) Así haré del monte Seír un yermo y lo cortaré de él al que va y al que vuelve.

(8) Llenaré sus montañas con sus degollados. En tus colinas, en tus valles y en todos tus ríos caerán los degollados con la espada.

(9) Haré que seas una desolación perpetua y que tus ciudades no vuelvan; sabrás que Yo soy el Eterno.

(10) Por cuanto tú has dicho: “Estas dos naciones y estos dos países serán míos y los poseeremos, aunque el Eterno haya estado allí”.

(11) Por mi vida, dice Dios el Eterno, obraré conforme a tu ira y conforme a tu envidia con que obraste contra ellos en tu odio; Me haré conocer a ellos cuando te juzgue.

(12) Y sabrás que Yo el Eterno he oído todas las blasfemias que proferiste contra las montañas de Israel, diciendo: “Han sido asoladas. Nos  las han dado para devorarlas”.

(13) Y habéis sido altaneros para conmigo, multiplicando vuestras palabras contra Mí. Yo las he oído.

(14) Así dice Dios el Eterno: Cuando se regocije toda la tierra, Yo te asolaré.

(15) Por haberte regocijado a causa de la herencia de la casa de Israel porque fue asolada, así haré contigo: serás tú también totalmente asolada, así haré contigo: serás tú también totalmente asolado, oh monte Ser y todo Edom, sabrán que Yo soy el Eterno.

Yechezkel – Ezekiel – Chapter 36

3 Therefore, prophesy and say; So said the Lord God: Because, yea because those around you were appalled and longed for you to be an inheritance for the remnant of the nations, and you were brought up on the lips of every language and the gossip of every people.		גלָכֵן֙ הִנָּבֵ֣א וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה יַ֣עַן בְּיַ֡עַן שַׁמּוֹת֩ וְשָׁאֹ֨ף אֶתְכֶ֜ם מִסָּבִ֗יב לִֽהְיוֹתְכֶ֚ם מֽוֹרָשָׁה֙ לִשְׁאֵרִ֣ית הַגּוֹיִ֔ם וַתֵּֽעֲל֛וּ עַל־שְׂפַ֥ת לָשׁ֖וֹן וְדִבַּת־עָֽם:
4 Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hearken to the word of the Lord God. So said the Lord God to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, to the desolate ruins and to the deserted cities, which became a scorn and a mockery to the remnant of the nations that are around.		דלָכֵן֙ הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שִׁמְע֖וּ דְּבַר־אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱ֠הֹוִה לֶֽהָרִ֨ים וְלַגְּבָע֜וֹת לָֽאֲפִיקִ֣ים וְלַגֵּֽאָי֗וֹת וְלֶֽחֳרָב֚וֹת הַשֹּֽׁמְמוֹת֙ וְלֶֽעָרִ֣ים הַנֶּעֱזָב֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָי֚וּ לְבַז֙ וּלְלַ֔עַג לִשְׁאֵרִ֥ית הַגּוֹיִ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר מִסָּבִֽיב:
5 Therefore, so said the Lord God: Surely with the fire of My anger I spoke about the remnant of the nations and about Edom in its entirety, who appointed My land for themselves as an inheritance with the joy of every heart, with disdain of soul, because her expulsion was for plunder.		הלָכֵ֗ן כֹּֽה־אָמַר֘ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִה֒ אִם־לֹ֠א בְּאֵ֨שׁ קִנְאָתִ֥י דִבַּ֛רְתִּי עַל־שְׁאֵרִ֥ית הַגּוֹיִ֖ם וְעַל־אֱד֣וֹם כֻּלָּ֑א אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָֽתְנוּ־אֶת־אַרְצִ֣י | לָ֠הֶם לְמ֨וֹרָשָׁ֜ה בְּשִׂמְחַ֚ת כָּל־לֵבָב֙ בִּשְׁאָ֣ט נֶ֔פֶשׁ לְמַ֥עַן מִגְרָשָׁ֖הּ לָבַֽז:

EZEQUIEL 36

(3) profetiza y di, así dice Dios el Eterno: Porque os asolaron y tragaron por todos lados para que fuerais posesión del resto de las naciones; fuisteis tomados en los labios de los habladores para maledicencia de la gente.

(4) Escuchad, oh montañas de Israel, la palabra de Dios el Eterno: Así dice Dios el Eterno a la montaña y a los collados, a los ríos y a los valles, a los desolados yermos y a las ciudades abandonadas que se tornaron en presa y burla para el resto de las naciones de en derredor;

(5) dice Dios el Eterno: Ciertamente  en el fuego de Mis celos he hablado contra el resto de las naciones y contra todo Edom, que han considerado a Mi tierra como su posesión, con todo el regocijo de su corazón y con desprecio del alma para arrojarla como presa.

1 The vision of Obadiah; So said the Lord God concerning Edom; We have heard tidings from the Lord, and a messenger has been sent among the nations, “Arise and let us rise up against them in war!”		א חֲז֖וֹן עֹֽבַדְיָ֑ה כֹּֽה־אָמַר֩ אֲדֹנָ֨י יֱהֹוִ֜ה לֶֽאֱד֗וֹם שְׁמוּעָ֨ה שָׁמַ֜עְנוּ מֵאֵ֚ת יְהֹוָה֙ וְצִיר֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם שֻׁלָּ֔ח ק֛וּמוּ וְנָק֥וּמָה עָלֶ֖יהָ לַמִּלְחָמָֽה:
2 Behold I have made you small among the nations; you are very despised.		בהִנֵּ֥ה קָטֹ֛ן נְתַתִּ֖יךָ בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם בָּז֥וּי אַתָּ֖ה מְאֹֽד:
3 The wickedness of your heart enticed you, who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, who says to himself, “Who will bring me down to the earth?”		גזְד֚וֹן לִבְּךָ֙ הִשִּׁיאֶ֔ךָ שֹֽׁכְנִ֥י בְחַגְוֵי־סֶ֖לַע מְר֣וֹם שִׁבְתּ֑וֹ אֹמֵ֣ר בְּלִבּ֔וֹ מִ֥י יֽוֹרִידֵ֖נִי אָֽרֶץ:
4 If you go up high like an eagle, and if you place your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down, says the Lord.		דאִם־תַּגְבִּ֣יהַּ כַּנֶּ֔שֶׁר וְאִם־בֵּ֥ין כּֽוֹכָבִ֖ים שִׂ֣ים קִנֶּ֑ךָ מִשָּׁ֥ם אוֹרִֽידְךָ֖ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה:
5 Did thieves come upon you, did plunderers of the night? How were you silent? Will they not steal till they have enough? If vintagers came upon you, would they not leave over some gleaning grapes?		האִם־גַּנָּבִ֚ים בָּא֚וּ לְךָ֙ אִם־שׁ֣וֹדְדֵי לַ֔יְלָה אֵ֣יךְ נִדְמֵ֔יתָה הֲל֥וֹא יִגְנְב֖וּ דַּיָּ֑ם אִם־בֹּֽצְרִים֙ בָּ֣אוּ לָ֔ךְ הֲל֖וֹא יַשְׁאִ֥ירוּ עֹֽלֵלֽוֹת:
6 How Esau was searched out, how his hidden things were revealed!		ואֵיךְ נֶחְפְּשׂ֣וּ עֵשָׂ֔ו נִבְע֖וּ מַצְפֻּנָֽיו:
7 Until the border all your allies escorted you; your friends enticed you, yea prevailed against you; your food they lay as a wound under you; there is no discernment in them.		זעַד־הַגְּב֣וּל שִׁלְּח֗וּךָ כֹּל אַנְשֵׁ֣י בְרִיתֶ֔ךָ הִשִּׁיא֛וּךָ יָֽכְל֥וּ לְךָ֖ אַנְשֵׁ֣י שְׁלֹמֶ֑ךָ לַחְמְךָ֗ יָשִׂ֚ימוּ מָזוֹר֙ תַּחְתֶּ֔יךָ אֵ֥ין תְּבוּנָ֖ה בּֽוֹ:
8 Shall I not in that day-says the Lord-destroy wise men from Edom and discernment from the mountain of Esau?		חהֲל֛וֹא בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא נְאֻם יְהֹוָ֑ה וְהַֽאֲבַדְתִּ֚י חֲכָמִים֙ מֵֽאֱד֔וֹם וּתְבוּנָ֖ה מֵהַ֥ר עֵשָֽׂו:
9 And your mighty men shall be dismayed, O dwellers of the southland, in order that every man be cut off from the mountain of Esau by slaughter.		טוְחַתּ֥וּ גִבּוֹרֶ֖יךָ תֵּימָ֑ן לְמַ֧עַן יִכָּֽרֶת־אִ֛ישׁ מֵהַ֥ר עֵשָׂ֖ו מִקָּֽטֶל:
10 Because of the violence of your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.		ימֵֽחֲמַ֛ס אָחִ֥יךָ יַֽעֲקֹ֖ב תְּכַסְּךָ֣ בוּשָׁ֑ה וְנִכְרַ֖תָּ לְעוֹלָֽם:
11 On that day you stood from afar, on the day strangers captured his possessions, and foreigners came into his cities, and on Jerusalem they cast lots; you, too, are like one of them.		יאבְּיוֹם֙ עֲמָֽדְךָ֣ מִנֶּ֔גֶד בְּי֛וֹם שְׁב֥וֹת זָרִ֖ים חֵיל֑וֹ וְנָכְרִ֞ים בָּ֣אוּ שְׁעָרָ֗יו (כתיב שְׁעָרָ֗ו) וְעַל־יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ יַדּ֣וּ גוֹרָ֔ל גַּם־אַתָּ֖ה כְּאַחַ֥ד מֵהֶֽם:
12 And you should not have looked on the day of your brother on the day of his being delivered, and you should not have rejoiced about the children of Judah on the day of their destruction, and you should not have spoken proudly on the day of distress.		יבוְאַל־תֵּ֚רֶא בְיֽוֹם־אָחִ֙יךָ֙ בְּי֣וֹם נָכְר֔וֹ וְאַל־תִּשְׂמַ֥ח לִבְנֵֽי־יְהוּדָ֖ה בְּי֣וֹם אָבְדָ֑ם וְאַל־תַּגְדֵּ֥ל פִּ֖יךָ בְּי֥וֹם צָרָֽה:
13 You should not have come into the gate of My people on the day of their misfortune; you too should not have looked at their affliction on the day of their misfortune, and you should not have stretched out [your hand] upon their possessions on the day of their misfortune.		יגאַל־תָּב֚וֹא בְשַֽׁעַר־עַמִּי֙ בְּי֣וֹם אֵידָ֔ם אַל־תֵּ֧רֶא גַם־אַתָּ֛ה בְּרָֽעָת֖וֹ בְּי֣וֹם אֵיד֑וֹ וְאַל־תִּשְׁלַ֥חְנָה בְחֵיל֖וֹ בְּי֥וֹם אֵידֽוֹ:
14 And you should not have stood by the gap to cut off their fugitives, neither should you have delivered their survivors on the day of distress.		ידוְאַל־תַּֽעֲמֹד֙ עַל־הַפֶּ֔רֶק לְהַכְרִ֖ית אֶת־פְּלִיטָ֑יו וְאַל־תַּסְגֵּ֥ר שְׂרִידָ֖יו בְּי֥וֹם צָרָֽה:
15 For the day of the Lord over all the nations is close; as you have done shall be done to you; your recompense shall be returned upon your head.		טוכִּֽי־קָר֥וֹב יֽוֹם־יְהֹוָ֖ה עַל־כָּל־הַגּוֹיִ֑ם כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֚ר עָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ יֵעָ֣שֶׂה לָּ֔ךְ גְּמֻֽלְךָ֖ יָשׁ֥וּב בְּרֹאשֶֽׁךָ:
16 For, as you drank on My Holy Mount, shall all the nations drink constantly, and they shall drink and be stunned, and they shall be as though they were not.		טזכִּ֗י כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֚ר שְׁתִיתֶם֙ עַל־הַ֣ר קָדְשִׁ֔י יִשְׁתּ֥וּ כָל־הַגּוֹיִ֖ם תָּמִ֑יד וְשָׁת֣וּ וְלָע֔וּ וְהָי֖וּ כְּל֥וֹא הָיֽוּ:
17 And on Mount Zion there shall be a remnant, and it shall be holy, and the house of Jacob shall inherit those who inherited them.		יזוּבְהַ֥ר צִיּ֛וֹן תִּֽהְיֶ֥ה פְלֵיטָ֖ה וְהָ֣יָה קֹ֑דֶשׁ וְיָֽרְשׁוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב אֵ֖ת מוֹרָֽשֵׁיהֶֽם:

ABDÍAS 1

(1) Visión de Abdías (Ovadiá). Así dice Dios, el Eterno con respecto a Edom: Hemos oído un mensaje del Eterno y un embajador es enviado entre las naciones: “Levántaos y levantémonos contra Edom en batalla”.

(2) He aquí que te hago pequeño Edom, entre las naciones. Te desprecian mucho.

(3) La soberbia de tu corazón te ha engañado, a ti que vives en las hechuras de la roca y en tu habitación en lo alto, que dices en tu corazón: “¿Quién me bajará al suelo?”.

(4) A ti que haces tu nido tan alto como el águila, aunque lo pongas entre las estrellas, te bajaré de allí, dice el Eterno.

(5) Si vieran a ti ladrones, si te asaltarán de noche, ¿no robarían hasta que les baste? Si vinieran a ti vendimiadores ¿no dejarían rebusco?

(6) Pero Esáu (Esav) es escudriñado hasta lo ultimo. ¡Cómo son buscados sus lugares escondidos!

(7) Todos los hombres de tu alianza te han conducido al linde. Los hombres que estaban en paz contigo te engañaron y prevalecieron contra ti. Los que comen tu pan te tienden una trampa. No hay entendimiento en ellos.

(8) ¿No debo entonces en aquel día, dice el Eterno, destruir a los que se precian de ser sabios de Edom, quitando todo discernimiento de la montaña de Esaú?

(9) Y tus hombres poderosos, oh Teman, desfallecerán y al final cada uno de ellos será cortado del monte de Esaú por la matanza.

(10) Porque te cubrirá la vergüenza por la violencia hecha a tu hermano Jacob y serás cortado para siempre.

(11) En el día que te pusiste frente a él, en el día que los extraños se llevaron sus despojos y los extranjeros entraron por sus portones y arrojaron suerte por Jerusalem, tú también eras uno de ellos.

(12) Pero no mires en el día de tu hermano, en el día de su desastre, ni te regocijes por los hijos de Judá (Yehudá) en el día de su destrucción, ni hables orgullosamente en el día de la desdicha.

(13) No entres por el portón de Mi pueblo en el día de su calamidad. Sí, no mires su aflicción en el día de su calamidad, ni pongas la mano sobre sus despojos en el día de su calamidad,

(14) ni te pongas en el camino de los que huyen para contarlos, ni entregues a los que queden en el día de su tribulación.

(15) Porque cercano está el día del Eterno para todas las naciones. Como tú has hecho, así te será hecho a ti. Tu acción recaerá sobre tu propia cabeza.

(16) Porque así como habéis bebido sobre Mi santo Monte, así beberán todas las naciones continuamente. Sí, beberán y tragarán. Serán como si no hubieran sido.

(17) Pero en el monte Sión (Tzion) estarán los que escalen; éste será sagrado. y la casa de Jacob (Yaacov) volverá a tener sus posesiones.

Yeshayahu – Isaiah – Chapter 34

5 For My sword has become sated in the heaven. Behold, it shall descend upon Edom, and upon the nation with whom I contend, for judgment.		הכִּֽי־רִוְּתָ֥ה בַשָּׁמַ֖יִם חַרְבִּ֑י הִנֵּה֙ עַל־אֱד֣וֹם תֵּרֵ֔ד וְעַל־עַ֥ם חֶרְמִ֖י לְמִשְׁפָּֽט:
6 The Lord’s sword has become full of blood, made fat with fatness, from the blood of lambs and goats, from the fat of the kidneys of rams, for the Lord has a slaughter in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.		וחֶ֣רֶב לַֽיהֹוָ֞ה מָֽלְאָ֥ה דָם֙ הֻדַּ֣שְׁנָה מֵחֶ֔לֶב מִדַּ֚ם כָּרִים֙ וְעַתּוּדִ֔ים מֵחֶ֖לֶב כִּלְי֣וֹת אֵילִ֑ים כִּ֣י זֶ֚בַח לַֽיהֹוָה֙ בְּבָצְרָ֔ה וְטֶ֥בַח גָּד֖וֹל בְּאֶ֥רֶץ אֱדֽוֹם:
7 And wild oxen shall go down with them, and bulls with fat bulls, and their land shall be sated from blood, and their dust shall become saturated from fat.		זוְיָֽרְד֚וּ רְאֵמִים֙ עִמָּ֔ם וּפָרִ֖ים עִם־אַבִּירִ֑ים וְרִוְּתָ֚ה אַרְצָם֙ מִדָּ֔ם וַֽעֲפָרָ֖ם מֵחֵ֥לֶב יְדֻשָּֽׁן:
8 For it is a day of vengeance for the Lord, a year of retribution for the plea of Zion.		חכִּ֛י י֥וֹם נָקָ֖ם לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה שְׁנַ֥ת שִׁלּוּמִ֖ים לְרִ֥יב צִיּֽוֹן:

ISAÍAS 34(5 – 8)

(5) Porque Mi espada (dice el Eterno) se empapó en el cielo. He aquí que bajará sobre Edom y sobre el pueblo de Mi anatema, pàra juicio.

(6) La espada del Eterno está empapada de sangre y está untada de sebo con la sangre de corderos y cabras, con el sebo de los riñones de carneros porque el Eterno tiene un sacrificio en Bozra (Botzrá) y una gran matanza en al tierra de Edom.

(7) Y caerán con ellos los uros y los novillos con los toros; su tierra será anegada en sangre y su polvo fertilizado son sebo.

(8) Porque el Eterno tiene un día de venganza, un año de recompensa por el pleito de Sión.

4 Why do you boast about the valleys? Your valley is flowing, O backsliding daughter, who depends on her treasures, saying, “Who shall come to me?”		דמַה־תִּתְהַֽלְלִי֙ בָּֽעֲמָקִ֔ים זָ֣ב עִמְקֵ֔ךְ הַבַּ֖ת הַשּֽׁוֹבֵבָ֑ה הַבֹּֽטְחָה֙ בְּאֹ֣צְרֹתֶ֔יהָ מִ֖י יָב֥וֹא אֵלָֽי:
5 Behold I bring fright upon you, says the Lord God of Hosts, from all those around you, and you shall be driven, each man forward, and no one shall take in the wanderer.		ההִֽנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא עָלַ֜יִךְ פַּ֗חַד נְאֻם־אֲדֹנָ֧י יֱהֹוִ֛ה צְבָא֖וֹת מִכָּל־סְבִיבָ֑יִךְ וְנִדַּחְתֶּם֙ אִ֣ישׁ לְפָנָ֔יו וְאֵ֥ין מְקַבֵּ֖ץ לַנֹּדֵֽד:
6 And afterwards, I will return the captivity of the children of Ammon, says the Lord.		ווְאַֽחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אָשִׁ֛יב אֶת־שְׁב֥וּת בְּנֵֽי־עַמּ֖וֹן נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה:
7 Concerning Edom, So said the Lord of Hosts: Is there no more wisdom in the south? Counsel is lost from the sons, their wisdom has spoiled.		זלֶֽאֱד֗וֹם כֹּ֚ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הַאֵ֥ין ע֛וֹד חָכְמָ֖ה בְּתֵימָ֑ן אָֽבְדָ֚ה עֵצָה֙ מִבָּנִ֔ים נִסְרְחָ֖ה חָכְמָתָֽם:
8 Flee! Clear out! Dwell deep, O dwellers of Dedan, for the misfortune of Esau have I brought upon him, the times I have visited upon him.		חנֻ֚סוּ הָפְנוּ֙ הֶֽעְמִ֣קוּ לָשֶׁ֔בֶת יֹֽשְׁבֵ֖י דְּדָ֑ן כִּ֣י אֵ֥יד עֵשָ֛וֹ הֵבֵ֥אתִי עָלָ֖יו עֵ֥ת פְּקַדְתִּֽיו:
9If vintagers have come upon you, will they not leave over gleaning grapes? If thieves at night, they destroy until they have enough.		טאִם־בֹּֽצְרִים֙ בָּ֣אוּ לָ֔ךְ לֹ֥א יַשְׁאִ֖ירוּ עֽוֹלֵלֹ֑ות אִם־גַּנָּבִ֥ים בַּלַּ֖יְלָה הִשְׁחִ֥יתוּ דַיָּֽם:
10 For I exposed Esau, I revealed his hidden places, and he could not hide; his seed, his brothers, and his neighbors were spoiled, and he is not here.		יכִּֽי־אֲנִ֞י חָשַׂ֣פְתִּי אֶת־עֵשָ֗וֹ גִּלֵּ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־מִסְתָּרָ֔יו וְנֶחְבָּ֖ה לֹ֣א יוּכָ֑ל שֻׁדַּ֥ד זַרְע֛וֹ וְאֶחָ֥יו וּשְׁכֵנָ֖יו וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ:
11 Leave your orphans, I will sustain them, and your widows shall trust in Me.		יאעָזְבָ֥ה יְתֹמֶ֖יךָ אֲנִ֣י אֲחַיֶּ֑ה וְאַלְמְנוֹתֶ֖יךָ עָלַ֥י תִּבְטָֽחוּ:
12 For so said the Lord: Behold, [if] those who did not deserve to drink the cup nevertheless shall drink; should you then be cleared? You shall not be cleared, but you shall surely drink.		יבכִּי־כֹ֣ה | אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה הִ֠נֵּה אֲשֶׁר־אֵ֨ין מִשְׁפָּטָ֜ם לִשְׁתּ֚וֹת הַכּוֹס֙ שָׁת֣וֹ יִשְׁתּ֔וּ וְאַתָּ֣ה ה֔וּא נָקֹ֖ה תִּנָּקֶ֑ה לֹ֣א תִנָּקֶ֔ה כִּ֥י שָׁתֹ֖ה תִּשְׁתֶּֽה:
13 For by Myself have I sworn, says the Lord, that Bozrah shall become desolation, reproach, waste, and a curse, and all her cities shall become perpetual wastelands.		יגכִּ֣י בִ֚י נִשְׁבַּ֙עְתִּי֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּֽי־לְשַׁמָּ֧ה לְחֶרְפָּ֛ה לְחֹ֥רֶב וְלִקְלָלָ֖ה תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה בָצְרָ֑ה וְכָל־עָרֶ֥יהָ תִּהְיֶ֖ינָה לְחָרְב֥וֹת עוֹלָֽם:
14 I have heard tidings from the Lord, and an emissary is sent among the nations: Assemble and come upon her, and arise for war!		ידשְׁמוּעָ֚ה שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה וְצִ֖יר בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם שָׁל֑וּחַ הִתְקַבְּצוּ֙ וּבֹ֣אוּ עָלֶ֔יהָ וְק֖וּמוּ לַמִּלְחָמָֽה:
15 For, behold, I have made you small among the nations, despised among man.		טוכִּֽי־הִנֵּ֥ה קָטֹ֛ן נְתַתִּ֖יךָ בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם בָּז֖וּי בָּֽאָדָֽם:
16 Your hastiness has enticed you, the wickedness of your heart, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill; if you raise your nest like an eagle, from there will I bring you down, says the Lord.		טזתִּֽפְלַצְתְּךָ֞ הִשִּׁ֚יא אֹתָךְ֙ זְד֣וֹן לִבֶּ֔ךָ שֹֽׁכְנִי֙ בְּחַגְוֵ֣י הַסֶּ֔לַע תֹּֽפְשִׂ֖י מְר֣וֹם גִּבְעָ֑ה כִּֽי־תַגְבִּ֚יהַּ כַּנֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ קִנֶּ֔ךָ מִשָּׁ֥ם אֹורִֽידְךָ֖ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה:
17 And Edom shall become a desolation; whoever passes by her shall be astonished and shall hiss at all her plagues.		יזוְהָֽיְתָ֥ה אֱד֖וֹם לְשַׁמָּ֑ה כֹּל עֹבֵ֣ר עָלֶ֔יהָ יִשֹּׁ֥ם וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק עַל־כָּל־מַכּוֹתֶֽהָ:
18 Like the overturning of Sodom and Gemorrah and her neighbors, said the Lord, no man shall dwell there, and no man shall sojourn there.		יחכְּֽמַהְפֵּכַ֞ת סְדֹ֧ם וַֽעֲמֹרָ֛ה וּשְׁכֵנֶ֖יהָ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁ֥ב שָׁם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־יָג֥וּר בָּ֖הּ בֶּן־אָדָֽם:
19 Behold, as a lion that ascends from the heights of the Jordan to a strong dwelling place, for I will bring the moment when I will hasten him away from her, and he who is chosen I will appoint to her, for who is like Me and who will appoint Me a time, and who is a shepherd who will stand before Me?		יטהִ֠נֵּה כְּאַרְיֵ֞ה יַֽעֲלֶ֨ה מִגְּא֣וֹן הַיַּרְדֵּן֘ אֶל־נְוֵ֣ה אֵיתָן֒ כִּֽי־אַרְגִּ֚יעָה אֲרִיצֶ֨נּוּ מֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָ וּמִ֥י בָח֖וּר אֵלֶ֣יהָ אֶפְקֹ֑ד כִּ֣י מִ֚י כָמ֙וֹנִי֙ וּמִ֣י יֹֽעִידֶ֔נִּי וּמִי־זֶ֣ה רֹעֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַֽעֲמֹ֖ד לְפָנָֽי:
20 Therefore, hearken to the counsel of the Lord, which He advised concerning Edom, and His plans that He planned concerning the dwellers of the south, if the young of the flock will not drag them, if He will not make desolate their dwellings with them.		כלָכֵ֞ן שִׁמְע֣וּ עֲצַת־יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֚ר יָעַץ֙ אֶל־אֱד֔וֹם וּמַ֨חְשְׁבוֹתָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖ב אֶל־יֹֽשְׁבֵ֣י תֵימָ֑ן אִם־לוֹ֚א יִסְחָבוּם֙ צְעִירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן אִם־לֹ֥א יַשִּׁ֛ים עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם נְוֵהֶֽם:
21 From the sound of their fall, the earth quaked; a cry whose sound was heard in the Red Sea.		כאמִקּ֣וֹל נִפְלָ֔ם רָֽעֲשָׁ֖ה הָאָ֑רֶץ צְעָקָ֕ה בְּיַם־ס֖וּף נִשְׁמַ֥ע קוֹלָֽהּ:
22 Behold like an eagle he shall ascend and soar, and he shall spread his wings over Bozrah, and the heart of the mighty men of Edom on that day shall be like the heart of a travailing woman.		כבהִנֵּ֚ה כַנֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ יַֽעֲלֶ֣ה וְיִדְאֶ֔ה וְיִפְרֹ֥שׂ כְּנָפָ֖יו עַל־בָּצְרָ֑ה וְֽ֠הָיָה לֵ֞ב גִּבּוֹרֵ֚י אֱדוֹם֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא כְּלֵ֖ב אִשָּׁ֥ה מְצֵרָֽה:

JEREMÍAS 49 (7 – 22)

(7) De Edom. Así dice el Eterno de los Ejércitos: ¿ No hay más sabiduría en Teimán? ¿ Ha muerto el consejo de los prudentes? ¿Se ha desvanecido su sabiduría?

(8) Huid, retroceded, morad en lugares profundos, oh moradores de Dedán porque traigo la calamidad de Esaú (Esav) sobre él para tiempo en que le castigue.

(9) Si los vendimiadores vinieran a ti, ¿no dejarían algunas uvas brillantes? Si hubieran entrados entrado ladrones de noche, ¿ no habrían destruido todo hasta cansarse?

(10) Pero he privado de todo a Esaú, y he puesto al descubierto sus lugares secretos. Él no podrá esconderse. su simiente está destruida y también sus hermanos, sus vecinos y él no está más.

(11) Deja a tus huérfanos, que Yo las cuidaré, t deja que tus viudas confíen en Mí.

(12) Porque así dice el Eterno: He aquí que aquellos a quienes no correspondía beber de la copa, de seguro beberán, ¿y eres tú el que ha de irse sin castigo? No te irás sin recibir castigo sino que inexorablemente beberás.

(13) Por cuanto he jurado por Mí mismo dice el Eterno, que Bozra será un asombro, un oprobio, una desolación y una maldición todas sus ciudades serán eriales perpetuos.

(14) he oído un mensaje del Eterno y un embajador es enviado entre las naciones: “Reuníos y venid contra ella, levantaos para la batalla”.

(15) Porque he aquí que te hago pequeña entre las naciones y despreciada entre los hombres.

(16) Tu pavor te ha engañado y te ha ensoberbecido la altanería de tu corazón. ¡Oh tú que vives en las hendiduras de la roca, aunque hagas tu nido tan alto como él águila, he de bajarte de allí, dice el Eterno.

(17) Y Edom se convertirá en un asombro para todos los que pasen por allí. Se asombrarán y se burlarán de todas sus plagas.

(18) Como cuando fueron derribadas Sodoma y gomorra y las ciudades vecinas, die el Eterno, ningún hombre habitará allí, ni vivirá hijos dew hombre allí.

(19) He aquí que él vendrá como un león de las espesuras del Jordán contra la fortaleza y súbitamente haré que huya y estableceré como gobernador a quien haya escogido ya que ¿quien se asemeja a mí? ¿Y quién puede fijarme un tiempo? ¿Y quién es el pastor que pueda estar delante de Mí?

(20) Escuchad pues el propósito del Eterno que Él se ha fijado contra Edom, y los designios que tiene contra los habitantes de Teimán. De seguro el más débil los arrastrará. En verdad su morada se consternará ante ellos.

(21) Con el estruendo de la caída de ellos la tierra tiembla. Hay gritos que se oye hasta en el Mar Rojo.

(22) He aquí que él subirá, se abalanzará como águila y extenderá sus alas contra Bozra; ese día el corazón de los valientes de Edom será como el corazón de una mujer en trance.

Malachi – Chapter 1

1 The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel in the hand of Malachi.		א מַשָּׂ֥א דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בְּיַ֖ד מַלְאָכִֽי:
2 I loved you, said the Lord, and you said, “How have You loved us?” Was not Esau a brother to Jacob? says the Lord. And I loved Jacob.		באָהַ֚בְתִּי אֶתְכֶם֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה וַֽאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמָּ֣ה אֲהַבְתָּ֑נוּ הֲלוֹא־אָ֨ח עֵשָׂ֚ו לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וָֽאֹהַ֖ב אֶת־יַֽעֲקֹֽב:
3 And I hated Esau, and I made his mountains desolate and his heritage into [a habitat for] the jackals of the desert.		גוְאֶת־עֵשָׂ֖ו שָׂנֵ֑אתִי וָֽאָשִׂ֚ים אֶת־הָרָיו֙ שְׁמָמָ֔ה וְאֶת־נַֽחֲלָת֖וֹ לְתַנּ֥וֹת מִדְבָּֽר:
4 Should Edom say, “We were poor, but we will return and build the ruins”? So said the Lord of Hosts: They shall build, but I will demolish; and they shall be called the border of wickedness and the people whom the Lord has damned forever.		דכִּֽי־תֹאמַ֨ר אֱד֜וֹם רֻשַּׁ֗שְׁנוּ וְנָשׁוּב֙ וְנִבְנֶ֣ה חֳרָב֔וֹת כֹּ֚ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הֵ֥מָּה יִבְנ֖וּ וַֽאֲנִ֣י אֶֽהֱר֑וֹס וְקָרְא֚וּ לָהֶם֙ גְּב֣וּל רִשְׁעָ֔ה וְהָעָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־זָעַ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה עַד־עוֹלָֽם:
5 And your eyes shall see, and you shall say, “The Lord is great beyond the border of Israel.”		הוְעֵֽינֵיכֶ֖ם תִּרְאֶ֑ינָה וְאַתֶּ֚ם תֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ יִגְדַּ֣ל יְהֹוָ֔ה מֵעַ֖ל לִגְב֥וּל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:

MALAQUIAS 1 (1 – 5)

(1) Oráculo del Eterno a Israel por medio de Malaquias (Malají).

(2) Os he amado, dice el Eterno. Sin embargo, decís: “¿Dónde nos has amado ?”, ¿no era acaso Esaú (Esav) el hermano de Jacob (Yaacov)?, dice el Eterno. Pero Yo amaba a Jacob,

(3) mas a Esáu lo aborrecía; hice de sus montañas una desolación y di su herencia a los chacales del desierto.

(4) Aunque diga Edom: “Estamos derrotados pero volveremos y reconstruiremos los lugares desolados”, dice el Eterno de los Ejércitos: Ellos construirán pero Yo derribaré; se le llamarán “el límite de la iniquidad” y serán el pueblo a quien el Eterno execrará para siempre.

(5) Lo verán vuestros ojos y diréis: “El Eterno es grande allende los límites de Israel”.

Yeshayahu – Isaiah – Chapter 63

1 Who is this coming from Edom, with soiled garments, from Bozrah, this one [Who was] stately in His apparel, girded with the greatness of His strength? “I speak with righteousness, great to save.”		אמִי־זֶ֣ה | בָּ֣א מֵֽאֱד֗וֹם חֲמ֚וּץ בְּגָדִים֙ מִבָּצְרָ֔ה זֶה הָד֣וּר בִּלְבוּשׁ֔וֹ צֹעֶ֖ה בְּרֹ֣ב כֹּח֑וֹ אֲנִ֛י מְדַבֵּ֥ר בִּצְדָקָ֖ה רַ֥ב לְהוֹשִֽׁיעַ:
2 Why is Your clothing red, and your attire like [that of] one who trod in a wine press?		במַדּ֥וּעַ אָדֹ֖ם לִלְבוּשֶׁ֑ךָ וּבְגָדֶ֖יךָ כְּדֹרֵ֥ךְ בְּגַֽת:
3 “A wine press I trod alone, and from the peoples, none was with Me; and I trod them with My wrath, and I trampled them with My fury, and their life blood sprinkled on My garments, and all My clothing I soiled.		גפּוּרָ֣ה | דָּרַ֣כְתִּי לְבַדִּ֗י וּמֵֽעַמִּים֙ אֵֽין־אִ֣ישׁ אִתִּ֔י וְאֶדְרְכֵ֣ם בְּאַפִּ֔י וְאֶרְמְסֵ֖ם בַּֽחֲמָתִ֑י וְיֵ֚ז נִצְחָם֙ עַל־בְּגָדַ֔י וְכָל־מַלְבּוּשַׁ֖י אֶגְאָֽלְתִּי:
4 For a day of vengeance was in My heart, and the year of My redemption has arrived.		דכִּ֛י י֥וֹם נָקָ֖ם בְּלִבִּ֑י וּשְׁנַ֥ת גְּאוּלַ֖י בָּֽאָה:
5 And I looked and there was no one helping, and I was astounded and there was no one supporting, and My arm saved for Me, and My fury-that supported Me.		הוְאַבִּיט֙ וְאֵ֣ין עֹזֵ֔ר וְאֶשְׁתּוֹמֵ֖ם וְאֵ֣ין סוֹמֵ֑ךְ וַתּ֚וֹשַֽׁע לִי֙ זְרֹעִ֔י וַֽחֲמָתִ֖י הִ֥יא סְמָכָֽתְנִי:
6 And I trod peoples with My wrath, and I intoxicated them with My fury, and I brought their power down to the earth.”		ווְאָב֚וּס עַמִּים֙ בְּאַפִּ֔י וַֽאֲשַׁכְּרֵ֖ם בַּֽחֲמָתִ֑י וְאוֹרִ֥יד לָאָ֖רֶץ נִצְחָֽם:

ISAÍAS 63 (1 – 6)

(1) ¿Quién es éste que viene de Edom con vestido rojo de Bozra? ?Quién es éste tan airoso en su traje, tan impresionante por su fuerza? Yo que hablo en victoria, poderoso para salvar.

(2) ¿Por qué son rojo tu traje y tus ropas como las del que pisa el lagar?

(3) He pisado yo solo el lagar de los pueblos, no había nadie conmigo y entonces los pisé en Mi ira y los atrapé en Mi indignación; su sangre salpicó Mis ropas, tiñendo toda Mi vestimenta.

(4) Porque el día de venganza que había en Mi corazón y Mi año de redención ha venido.

(5) Miré y no había nadie aquien ayudar, observé asombrado y no había nadie a quien sostener. Por tanto, Mi propio brazo me trajo salvación y Mi ira me sostuvo.

(6) Pisoteé los pueblos en Mi ira, y los embriagué en Mi indignación, derramé su sangre sobre la tierra.

2 Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; and Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivvite;		בעֵשָׂ֛ו לָקַ֥ח אֶת־נָשָׁ֖יו מִבְּנ֣וֹת כְּנָ֑עַן אֶת־עָדָ֗ה בַּת־אֵילוֹן֙ הַֽחִתִּ֔י וְאֶת־אָֽהֳלִֽיבָמָה֙ בַּת־עֲנָ֔ה בַּת־צִבְע֖וֹן הַֽחִוִּֽי:
3 also Basemath, daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebaioth.		גוְאֶת־בָּשְׂמַ֥ת בַּת־יִשְׁמָעֵ֖אל אֲח֥וֹת נְבָיֽוֹת:
4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau and Basemath bore Reuel.		דוַתֵּ֧לֶד עָדָ֛ה לְעֵשָׂ֖ו אֶת־אֱלִיפָ֑ז וּבָ֣שְׂמַ֔ת יָלְדָ֖ה אֶת־רְעוּאֵֽל:
5 Oholibamah bore Jeush and Jalam and Korah; these are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.		הוְאָֽהֳלִֽיבָמָה֙ יָֽלְדָ֔ה אֶת־יְע֥וּשׁ (כתיב את־יעיש) וְאֶת־יַעְלָ֖ם וְאֶת־קֹ֑רַח אֵ֚לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י עֵשָׂ֔ו אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֻלְּדוּ־ל֖וֹ בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן:
6 And Esau took his wives, his sons, and his daughters and all the people of his household, and his cattle and all his animals and all his property that he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and he went to a[nother] land, because of his brother Jacob.		ווַיִּקַּ֣ח עֵשָׂ֡ו אֶת־נָ֠שָׁ֠יו וְאֶת־בָּנָ֣יו וְאֶת־בְּנֹתָיו֘ וְאֶת־כָּל־נַפְשׁ֣וֹת בֵּיתוֹ֒ וְאֶת־מִקְנֵ֣הוּ וְאֶת־כָּל־בְּהֶמְתּ֗וֹ וְאֵת֙ כָּל־קִנְיָנ֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר רָכַ֖שׁ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ אֶל־אֶ֔רֶץ מִפְּנֵ֖י יַֽעֲקֹ֥ב אָחִֽיו:
7 For their possessions were too numerous for them to dwell together, and the land of their sojournings could not support them because of their livestock.		זכִּֽי־הָיָ֧ה רְכוּשָׁ֛ם רָ֖ב מִשֶּׁ֣בֶת יַחְדָּ֑ו וְלֹ֨א יָֽכְלָ֜ה אֶ֤רֶץ מְגֽוּרֵיהֶם֙ לָשֵׂ֣את אֹתָ֔ם מִפְּנֵ֖י מִקְנֵיהֶֽם:
8 So Esau dwelt on Mount Seir Esau, that is Edom.		חוַיֵּ֤שֶׁב עֵשָׂו֙ בְּהַ֣ר שֵׂעִ֔יר עֵשָׂ֖ו ה֥וּא אֱדֽוֹם:
9 And these are the generations of Esau the progenitor of Edom, on Mount Seir.		טוְאֵ֛לֶּה תֹּֽלְד֥וֹת עֵשָׂ֖ו אֲבִ֣י אֱד֑וֹם בְּהַ֖ר שֵׂעִֽיר:
10 These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz, son of Adah, the wife of Esau, Reuel, son of Basemath, the wife of Esau.		יאֵ֖לֶּה שְׁמ֣וֹת בְּנֵֽי־עֵשָׂ֑ו אֱלִיפַ֗ז בֶּן־עָדָה֙ אֵ֣שֶׁת עֵשָׂ֔ו רְעוּאֵ֕ל בֶּן־בָּשְׂמַ֖ת אֵ֥שֶׁת עֵשָֽׂו:
11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gaatam, and Kenaz.		יאוַיִּֽהְי֖וּ בְּנֵ֣י אֱלִיפָ֑ז תֵּימָ֣ן אוֹמָ֔ר צְפ֥וֹ וְגַעְתָּ֖ם וּקְנַֽז:
12 And Timna was a concubine to Eliphaz, son of Esau, and she bore to Eliphaz, Amalek. These are the sons of Adah, the wife of Esau.		יבוְתִמְנַ֣ע | הָֽיְתָ֣ה פִילֶ֗גֶשׁ לֶֽאֱלִיפַז֙ בֶּן־עֵשָׂ֔ו וַתֵּ֥לֶד לֶאֱלִיפַ֖ז אֶת־עֲמָלֵ֑ק אֵ֕לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י עָדָ֖ה אֵ֥שֶׁת עֵשָֽׂו:
13 And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the sons of Basemath, the wife of Esau.		יגוְאֵ֨לֶּה֙ בְּנֵ֣י רְעוּאֵ֔ל נַ֥חַת וָזֶ֖רַח שַׁמָּ֣ה וּמִזָּ֑ה אֵ֣לֶּה הָי֔וּ בְּנֵ֥י בָשְׂמַ֖ת אֵ֥שֶׁת עֵשָֽׂו:
14 And these are the sons of Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon, the wife of Esau; she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.		ידוְאֵ֣לֶּה הָי֗וּ בְּנֵ֨י אָֽהֳלִֽיבָמָ֧ה בַת־עֲנָ֛ה בַּת־צִבְע֖וֹן אֵ֣שֶׁת עֵשָׂ֑ו וַתֵּ֣לֶד לְעֵשָׂ֔ו אֶת־יְע֥וּשׁ(כתיב את־יעיש) וְאֶת־יַעְלָ֖ם וְאֶת־קֹֽרַח:
15 These became the chieftains of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz, Esau’s firstborn: Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz,		טואֵ֖לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־עֵשָׂ֑ו בְּנֵ֤י אֱלִיפַז֙ בְּכ֣וֹר עֵשָׂ֔ו אַלּ֤וּף תֵּימָן֙ אַלּ֣וּף אוֹמָ֔ר אַלּ֥וּף צְפ֖וֹ אַלּ֥וּף קְנַֽז:
16 Chief Korah, Chief Gaatam, Chief Amalek. These are the chieftains of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah.		טזאַלּ֥וּף קֹ֛רַח אַלּ֥וּף גַּעְתָּ֖ם אַלּ֣וּף עֲמָלֵ֑ק אֵ֣לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֤י אֱלִיפַז֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ אֱד֔וֹם אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י עָדָֽה:
17 And these are the sons of Reuel the son of Esau: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, and Chief Mizzah. These are the chieftains of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, the wife of Esau.		יזוְאֵ֗לֶּה בְּנֵ֤י רְעוּאֵל֙ בֶּן־עֵשָׂ֔ו אַלּ֥וּף נַ֨חַת֙ אַלּ֣וּף זֶ֔רַח אַלּ֥וּף שַׁמָּ֖ה אַלּ֣וּף מִזָּ֑ה אֵ֣לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֤י רְעוּאֵל֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ אֱד֔וֹם אֵ֕לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י בָֽשְׂמַ֖ת אֵ֥שֶׁת עֵשָֽׂו:
18 And these are the sons of Oholibamah, the wife of Esau: Chief Jeush, Chief Jaalam, Chief Korah. These are the chieftains of Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, the wife of Esau.		יחוְאֵ֗לֶּה בְּנֵ֤י אָֽהֳלִֽיבָמָה֙ אֵ֣שֶׁת עֵשָׂ֔ו אַלּ֥וּף יְע֛וּשׁ אַלּ֥וּף יַעְלָ֖ם אַלּ֣וּף קֹ֑רַח אֵ֣לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֞י אָֽהֳלִֽיבָמָ֛ה בַּת־עֲנָ֖ה אֵ֥שֶׁת עֵשָֽׂו:
19 These are the sons of Esau and these are their chieftains, he is Edom.		יטאֵ֧לֶּה בְנֵֽי־עֵשָׂ֛ו וְאֵ֥לֶּה אַלּֽוּפֵיהֶ֖ם ה֥וּא אֱדֽוֹם:
20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, and Anah;		כאֵ֤לֶּה בְנֵֽי־שֵׂעִיר֙ הַֽחֹרִ֔י יֽשְׁבֵ֖י הָאָ֑רֶץ לוֹטָ֥ן וְשׁוֹבָ֖ל וְצִבְע֥וֹן וַֽעֲנָֽה:
21 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These are the chieftains of the Horites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom.		כאוְדִשׁ֥וֹן וְאֵ֖צֶר וְדִישָׁ֑ן אֵ֣לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֧י הַֽחֹרִ֛י בְּנֵ֥י שֵׂעִ֖יר בְּאֶ֥רֶץ אֱדֽוֹם:
22 The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam, and the sister of Lotan was Timna.		כבוַיִּֽהְי֥וּ בְנֵֽי־לוֹטָ֖ן חֹרִ֣י וְהֵימָ֑ם וַֽאֲח֥וֹת לוֹטָ֖ן תִּמְנָֽע:
23 And these are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.		כגוְאֵ֨לֶּה֙ בְּנֵ֣י שׁוֹבָ֔ל עַלְוָ֥ן וּמָנַ֖חַת וְעֵיבָ֑ל שְׁפ֖וֹ וְאוֹנָֽם:
24 And these are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah he is Anah who found the mules in the wilderness when he pastured the donkeys for his father Zibeon.		כדוְאֵ֥לֶּה בְנֵֽי־צִבְע֖וֹן וְאַיָּ֣ה וַֽעֲנָ֑ה ה֣וּא עֲנָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר מָצָ֤א אֶת־הַיֵּמִם֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר בִּרְעֹת֥וֹ אֶת־הַֽחֲמֹרִ֖ים לְצִבְע֥וֹן אָבִֽיו:
25 And these are the sons of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah.		כהוְאֵ֥לֶּה בְנֵֽי־עֲנָ֖ה דִּשֹׁ֑ן וְאָֽהֳלִֽיבָמָ֖ה בַּת־עֲנָֽה:
26 And these are the sons of Dishan: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.		כווְאֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י דִישָׁ֑ן חֶמְדָּ֥ן וְאֶשְׁבָּ֖ן וְיִתְרָ֥ן וּכְרָֽן:
27These are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.		כזאֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵי־אֵ֑צֶר בִּלְהָ֥ן וְזַעֲוָ֖ן וַֽעֲקָֽן:
28These are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.		כחאֵ֥לֶּה בְנֵֽי־דִישָׁ֖ן ע֥וּץ וַֽאֲרָֽן:
29These are the chieftains of the Horites: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah,		כטאֵ֖לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֣י הַֽחֹרִ֑י אַלּ֤וּף לוֹטָן֙ אַלּ֣וּף שׁוֹבָ֔ל אַלּ֥וּף צִבְע֖וֹן אַלּ֥וּף עֲנָֽה:
30 Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, and Chief Dishan; these are the chieftains of the Horites according to their chieftains in the land of Seir.		לאַלּ֥וּף דִּשֹׁ֛ן אַלּ֥וּף אֵ֖צֶר אַלּ֣וּף דִּישָׁ֑ן אֵ֣לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֧י הַֽחֹרִ֛י לְאַלֻּֽפֵיהֶ֖ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ שֵׂעִֽיר:
31 And these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel:		לאוְאֵ֨לֶּה֙ הַמְּלָכִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָלְכ֖וּ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ אֱד֑וֹם לִפְנֵ֥י מְלָךְ־מֶ֖לֶךְ לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
32 Bela, son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.		לבוַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ בֶּֽאֱד֔וֹם בֶּ֖לַע בֶּן־בְּע֑וֹר וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ דִּנְהָֽבָה:
33 Bela died, and Jobab, son of Zerah of Bozrah, reigned in his stead.		לגוַיָּ֖מָת בָּ֑לַע וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו יוֹבָ֥ב בֶּן־זֶ֖רַח מִבָּצְרָֽה:
34 And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.		לדוַיָּ֖מָת יוֹבָ֑ב וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו חֻשָׁ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ הַתֵּֽימָנִֽי:
35 Husham died, and Hadad, son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead. The name of his city was Avith.		להוַיָּ֖מָת חֻשָׁ֑ם וַיִּמְלֹ֨ךְ תַּחְתָּ֜יו הֲדַ֣ד בֶּן־בְּדַ֗ד הַמַּכֶּ֤ה אֶת־מִדְיָן֙ בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה מוֹאָ֔ב וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ עֲוִֽית:
36 Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.		לווַיָּ֖מָת הֲדָ֑ד וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שַׂמְלָ֖ה מִמַּשְׂרֵקָֽה:
37 Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.		לזוַיָּ֖מָת שַׂמְלָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שָׁא֖וּל מֵֽרְחֹב֥וֹת הַנָּהָֽר:
38 Saul died, and Baal Hanan, son of Achbor, reigned in his stead.		לחוַיָּ֖מָת שָׁא֑וּל וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו בַּ֥עַל חָנָ֖ן בֶּן־עַכְבּֽוֹר:
39 Baal Hanan, son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead. The name of his city was Pau; his wife’s name was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me zahab.		לטוַיָּ֘מָת֘ בַּ֣עַל חָנָ֣ן בֶּן־עַכְבּוֹר֒ וַיִּמְלֹ֤ךְ תַּחְתָּיו֙ הֲדַ֔ר וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ פָּ֑עוּ וְשֵׁ֨ם אִשְׁתּ֤וֹ מְהֵֽיטַבְאֵל֙ בַּת־מַטְרֵ֔ד בַּ֖ת מֵ֥י זָהָֽב:
40 And these are the names of the chieftains of Esau, according to their clans, according to their places, by their names: Chief Timna, Chief Alvah, Chief Jetheth;		מוְאֵ֠לֶּה שְׁמ֞וֹת אַלּוּפֵ֤י עֵשָׂו֙ לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֔ם לִמְקֹֽמֹתָ֖ם בִּשְׁמֹתָ֑ם אַלּ֥וּף תִּמְנָ֛ע אַלּ֥וּף עַלְוָ֖ה אַלּ֥וּף יְתֵֽת:
41 Chief Oholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon,		מאאַלּ֧וּף אָֽהֳלִֽיבָמָ֛ה אַלּ֥וּף אֵלָ֖ה אַלּ֥וּף פִּינֹֽן:
42 Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar,		מבאַלּ֥וּף קְנַ֛ז אַלּ֥וּף תֵּימָ֖ן אַלּ֥וּף מִבְצָֽר:
43 Chief Magdiel, Chief Iram. These are the chieftains of Edom according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession. That is Esau, progenitor of the Edomites.		מגאַלּ֥וּף מַגְדִּיאֵ֖ל אַלּ֣וּף עִירָ֑ם אֵ֣לֶּה | אַלּוּפֵ֣י אֱד֗וֹם לְמֽשְׁבֹתָם֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ אֲחֻזָּתָ֔ם ה֥וּא עֵשָׂ֖ו אֲבִ֥י אֱדֽוֹם:
