Iranian tanker released by Gibraltar headed to Lebanon, says Turkey

But Lebanese energy minister claims Adrian Darya 1, which the US wants seized along with its cargo of oil, has not requested permission to dock

OSLO, Norway — An Iranian tanker released after being detained for six weeks by the British overseas territory of Gibraltar is now headed for Lebanon, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Friday.

However, Lebanon’s energy minister said the country has not received a docking request from the ship which carries Iranian crude oil worth some $130 million and whose seizure had been requested by the United States.

OSLO, Noruega – Un petrolero iraní liberado después de ser detenido durante seis semanas por el territorio británico de ultramar de Gibraltar ahora se dirige al Líbano, dijo el viernes el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Turquía, Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Sin embargo, el ministro de energía de Líbano dijo que el país no ha recibido una solicitud de atraque del barco que transporta petróleo crudo iraní por un valor de $ 130 millones y cuya incautación había sido solicitada por Estados Unidos.

Anteriormente se pensaba que el petrolero se dirigía a Turquía en base a la información que su tripulación ingresó en un sistema de navegación utilizado para rastrear barcos.

“Este buque tanque no se dirige a Iskenderun (en Turquía), se dirige al Líbano”, dijo Cavusoglu durante una visita a Oslo, refiriéndose al buque Adrian 1 Darya.

Se sospechaba que el barco transportaba petróleo crudo a Siria, en violación de las sanciones europeas contra el país, y Estados Unidos ha pedido que sea incautado.

El ministro no especificó si Líbano era el destino final del buque tanque.

“Todavía compramos gas a Irán, pero no compramos petróleo”, subrayó Cavusoglu, y agregó que Turquía estaba monitoreando el progreso del barco “muy de cerca”.

El ministro de Energía del Líbano, Nada Boustani, respondió que el petrolero no ha intentado atracar en su país y que el Líbano no maneja el petróleo iraní.

“El ministerio de energía no compra petróleo crudo de ningún país y el Líbano no posee una refinería de petróleo crudo. Tampoco hay una solicitud para que el petrolero Adrian Darya 1 ingrese al Líbano ”, dijo Boustani en las redes sociales.

La tripulación del Adrian Darya 1, anteriormente conocido como Grace 1, cambió su destino mencionado en su Sistema de identificación automática a Iskenderun, Turquía, un pequeño puerto en el mar Mediterráneo.

Sin embargo, los navegantes pueden ingresar cualquier destino en el AIS, por lo que Turquía puede no ser su verdadero destino. El 24 de agosto, había enumerado su destino como Mersin, Turquía, antes de eliminarlo de su sistema. Anteriormente, había dicho que iría a Grecia.

Un tribunal en el territorio británico ordenó la liberación del buque tanque el 15 de agosto a pesar de una oferta legal de último minuto por parte de los Estados Unidos para detenerlo.

La detención del buque cisterna y su posterior liberación por parte de Gibraltar han alimentado las crecientes tensiones entre Irán y los EE. UU. (25) Todo esto le sobrevino al rey Nabucodonosor

(26) Al cabo de doce meses se paseaba por el palacio real de babilonia.

(27) Hablo el rey diciendo: “¿No es esta la gran Babilonia que he edificado por morada real, con la grandeza de mi poder y la gloria de mi majestad?”.

(28) Cuando pronunciaba tales palabras cayó una voz del cielo: “Oh rey Nabucodonosor, a ti se te habla. El reino te es quitado,

(29) Y tú serás arrojado de los hombres y tu morada será con las bestias del campo. Serás obligado a comer hierba como los bueyes y siete tiempos pasarán sobre ti hasta que sepas que el Altísimo gobierna en el reino de los hombres y se lo da a quien quiere”.

(30) A la misma hora, se cumplió la cosa que Nabucodonosor, fue expulsado de los hombres y comió hierba como los bueyes y se empapó su cuerpo con el rocío del cielo hasta que sus cabellos crecieron como plumas de águila y sus uñas como la aves de rapiña (…)
