MarCheshvan (sometimes called Cheshvan) is the second month of the Jewish calendar counting from Rosh Hashanah (the eighth month from Nisan). Cheshvan is the only month that does not have any holidays or special mitzvot. We are taught that it is “reserved” for the time of Moshiach, who will inaugurate the Third Temple in the month of Cheshvan.
The Midrash relates that the Third Temple will be dedicated in this month.

MarCheshvan (a veces llamado Jeshvan) es el segundo mes del calendario Judío a partir de Rosh Hashaná (el octavo mes desde Nisan). Jeshvan es el único mes que no tiene feriados ni mitzvot especiales. Se nos enseña que está “reservado” para el tiempo del Mashíaj, quien inaugurará el Tercer Templo en el mes de Jeshván.
El Midrash relata que el Tercer Templo se dedicará este mes.

Mamá Rajel murió en el único mes del año, marjeshvan, “jeshvan amargo”, que no contiene ni un día festivo ni un día de ayuno colectivo. Murió en un mes mundano desprovisto de fiestas, desprovisto de tragedia. Es un mes de rutina (…)
Este mes mundano, nos dice el Midrash, es el mes en el que se inaugurará el Tercer Templo Sagrado. Es un mes mesiánico, un mes en el que la mundanidad se transforma en santidad.
