Esta semana iniciamos la lectura de la Parasha Va’era.
Considero es un buen momento para recordar lo que nos dice la biblia respecto a los hechiceros, adivinos, nigromantes, magos, astrólogos, etc.
Yeshayahu – Isaiah – Chapter 8
| 19 And when they say to you, “Inquire of the necromancers and those who divine by Jidoa bone, who chirp and who mutter.” “Does not this people inquire of its God? For the living, shall we inquire of the dead | יטוְכִֽי־יֹֽאמְר֣וּ אֲלֵיכֶ֗ם דִּרְשׁ֚וּ אֶל־הָֽאֹבוֹת֙ וְאֶל־הַיִּדְּעֹנִ֔ים הַֽמְצַפְצְפִ֖ים וְהַמַּהְגִּ֑ים הֲלוֹא־עַם֙ אֶל־אֱלֹהָ֣יו יִדְרֹ֔שׁ בְּעַ֥ד הַֽחַיִּ֖ים אֶל־הַמֵּתִֽים: |
Isaías 8
(19) Y cuando os dijeran: “Acudid a los espíritus y a los adivinos”, que sisean y murmuran, responded: “¿No debe un pueblo acudir a su Dios? ¿Los vivos han de acudir a los muertos?
Devarim – Deuteronomy – Chapter 18
| 9 When you have come to the land the Lord, your God, is giving you, you shall not learn to do like the abominations of those nations. | טכִּ֤י אַתָּה֙ בָּ֣א אֶל־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נֹתֵ֣ן לָ֑ךְ לֹֽא־תִלְמַ֣ד לַֽעֲשׂ֔וֹת כְּתֽוֹעֲבֹ֖ת הַגּוֹיִ֥ם הָהֵֽם: | |
| 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who passes his son or daughter through fire, a soothsayer, a diviner of [auspicious] times, one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, | ילֹֽא־יִמָּצֵ֣א בְךָ֔ מַֽעֲבִ֥יר בְּנֽוֹ־וּבִתּ֖וֹ בָּאֵ֑שׁ קֹסֵ֣ם קְסָמִ֔ים מְעוֹנֵ֥ן וּמְנַחֵ֖שׁ וּמְכַשֵּֽׁף: | |
| 11 or a charmer, a pithom sorcerer, a yido’a sorcerer, or a necromancer. | יאוְחֹבֵ֖ר חָ֑בֶר וְשֹׁאֵ֥ל אוֹב֙ וְיִדְּעֹנִ֔י וְדֹרֵ֖שׁ אֶל־הַמֵּתִֽים: | |
| 12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations, the Lord, your God is driving them out from before you. | יבכִּי־תֽוֹעֲבַ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה כָּל־עֹ֣שֵׂה אֵ֑לֶּה וּבִגְלַל֙ הַתּֽוֹעֵבֹ֣ת הָאֵ֔לֶּה יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶי֔ךָ מוֹרִ֥ישׁ אוֹתָ֖ם מִפָּנֶֽיךָ: | |
| 13 Be wholehearted with the Lord, your God. | יגתָּמִ֣ים תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה עִ֖ם יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ: | |
| 14 For these nations, which you are to possess, hearken to diviners of [auspicious] times and soothsayers, but as for you, the Lord, your God, has not given you [things] like these. | ידכִּ֣י | הַגּוֹיִ֣ם הָאֵ֗לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתָּה֙ יוֹרֵ֣שׁ אוֹתָ֔ם אֶל־מְעֹֽנְנִ֥ים וְאֶל־קֹֽסְמִ֖ים יִשְׁמָ֑עוּ וְאַתָּ֕ה לֹ֣א כֵ֔ן נָ֥תַן לְךָ֖ יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ: |
Deuteronomio 18
(9) Cuando hayas entrado a la tierra que te da el Eterno, tu Dios, no tratarás de hacer las abominaciones de esos pueblos.
(10) No se hallará nadie entre vosotros que haga pasar a su hijo o a su hija por el fuego, o que se dedique a la adivinación, a la magia o a la hechicería.
(11) o que sea proclive a los encantamientos o a las consultas a los espíritus o a los muertos.
(12) Pues todas esas cosas son abominación para el Eterno y precisamente por ellas, el Eterno tu Dios desposee a esos pueblos delante de ti.
(13) Tú, en cambio, Israel, serás perfecto ante el Eterno tu Dios.
(14) esos pueblos que conquistaras escuchan a magos, hechiceros y nigromantes pero a tí, el Eterno tu Dios no te permite hacerlo.
Vayikra – Leviticus – Chapter 19
| 31 ou shall not turn to [the sorcery of] Ov or Yid’oni; you shall not seek [these and thereby] defile yourselves through them. I am the Lord, your God. | לאאַל־תִּפְנ֤וּ אֶל־הָֽאֹבֹת֙ וְאֶל־הַיִּדְּעֹנִ֔ים אַל־תְּבַקְשׁ֖וּ לְטָמְאָ֣ה בָהֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י יְהוָֹ֥ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶֽם: |
Levíticos 19
(31) No acudirás a nigromantes ni a adivinos para no ser impurificados por ellos. Lo ordeno Yo el Eterno, vuestro Dios.

(6) Y el alma que acude a nigromantes y a adivinos, prostituyéndose tras ellos, será castigada con Mi ira, pues la extirparé del seno de su pueblo.

Isaías 47 :9-13
(9) Ahora bien, esas dos cosas te vendrán en un momento. Un día sufrirás la pérdida de hijos y de la viudez. En toda su gravedad, vendrán sobre ti, pese a la multitud de los hechizos y la gran abundancia de encantamientos.
(10) Tú que te has sentido segura en tu maldad y que has dicho: “Nadie me ve”, fuiste pervertida por tu arrogante sabiduría. Y dijiste en tu corazón: “Yo soy y no hay ninguna otra aparte de mí”.
(11) Pero el mal vendrá sobre ti. No sabrás cómo alejarte. La calamidad caerá sobre ti. No podrás ahuyentarlas y la ruina vendrá sobre ti súbitamente, antes de que te des cuenta.
(12) Permanece ahora con tus encantamientos y con la multitud de tus hechizos, los que has mostrado desde la juventud. Quizás puedan aprovecharte y acaso prevalezcas.
(13) estás perdida en la multitud de tus consejos. Que ahora los astrólogos, los adivinos y los pronosticadores se levanten y te salven de las cosas que vendrán sobre ti.

| 26You shall not eat over the blood. You shall not act on the basis of omens or lucky hours. | כולֹ֥א תֹֽאכְל֖וּ עַל־הַדָּ֑ם לֹ֥א תְנַֽחֲשׁ֖וּ וְלֹ֥א תְעוֹנֵֽנוּ: |

| 8 And you shall say; So said the Lord God: Woe to those who sew cushions on all armpits, and who make the veils for the head of people of every height, to ensnare souls. Ezequiel 13
(18) Diles: Así dice el Eterno: ¡Ay de las mujeres que cosen cojines para las coyuntura de los brazos y hacen almohadilla para la cabeza de gente de toda atadura para cazar almas! ¿Queréis acaso casar las llamas de mi pueblo y salvar las vuestras?
(19) y me habéis profanado entre Mi pueblo por puñado de cebada y por bocado de pan para matar las almas que no deben morir y salvar las almas que no deben sobrevivir, mintiendo a Mi pueblo que escucha mentiras.
(20) Por ende, así dice Dios el Eterno; He aquí que Yo soy contra vuestro cojines, con las cuales cazáis las almas como pájaros, los arrancaré de vuestros brazos y liberaré las almas que cazais como pájaros.
(21) A nuestras almohadillas también las arrancaré, libraré a Mi pueblo de vuestra mano y no quedará más en vuestra mano para ser cazados y sabréis que Yo soy el Eterno.
(22) Por cuanto con mentiras habéis confundido el corazón del recto cuando Yo no lo he afligido, y habéis fortalecido la mano del malvado para que no se vuelva de su mal camino, para ques ea salvado,
(23) Por lo tanto, no veréis más visiones vanas, no adivinaréis falsedades, y Yo libraré a mi pueblo de vuestra mano; sabréis que Yo soy el Eterno”.
Michah – Micah – Chapter 5
| 11 And I will destroy sorcery from your hand, and you will have no soothsayers. | יאוְהִכְרַתִּ֥י כְשָׁפִ֖ים מִיָּדֶ֑ךָ וּֽמְעֽוֹנְנִ֖ים לֹ֥א יִֽהְיוּ־לָֽךְ: |

(11) Cortaré las hechicerías de tu mano y no tendrás más agoreros.
