Raquel muere dando a luz
Génesis 35
16 Después se fueron de Betel. Cuando aun estaban lejos de Efrata, Raquel comenzó a dar a luz y sufría terribles dolores de parto. 17 Mientras sufría esos terribles dolores de parto, la partera le dijo: «No te asustes, estás dando a luz a otro hijo».
18 Raquel murió al dar a luz. Antes de morir llamó a su hijo Benoni , pero su papá lo llamó Benjamín.
19 Y murió Raquel, y fue sepultada en el camino de Efrata, que es Belén.
20 Y Jacob erigió un monumento sobre su tumba; esa es la lápida de Raquel hasta el día de hoy.
«Así habla el Señor: ¡Escuchen! En Ramá se oyen lamentos, llantos de amargura: es Raquel que llora a sus hijos; ella no quiere ser consolada, porque ya no existen».
Así dice el Eterno: Que tu voz cese de llorar, quita las lagrimas de tus ojos porque tu trabajo sera recompensado, dice el Eterno y verndrán de la tierra del enemigo. (Jer 31,15)

Israel será tu Nombre
Génesis 35
10 Dios le dijo: “Tu nombre es Jacob, pero ya no te llamarás Jacob; tu nombre será Israel. Así que lo llamó Israel.
11 Y le dijo Dios: Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso; sean fructíferos y aumenten en número. De ti saldrá una nación y una comunidad de naciones, y entre tu descendencia habrá reyes.
12 La tierra que le di a Abraham e Isaac también te la doy a ti, y esta tierra la daré a tu descendencia después de ti.
13 Entonces Dios subió de él al lugar donde había hablado con él.
14 Jacob erigió una columna de piedra en el lugar donde Dios le había hablado, y derramó una libación sobre ella; también derramó aceite sobre ella.
15 Jacob llamó al lugar donde Dios había hablado con él Bethel.
